Written by Community Team

Overview

Link Value is a metric that quantifies the estimated cost of your earned media placements using industry benchmarks. It simplifies how you evaluate backlink impact, translating placements into real-dollar value.

Key benefits/use cases

  • Demonstrate ROI by quantifying how much you’ve saved by earning placements through Connectively.

  • Track progress over time as your brand visibility grows.

  • Compare cost-effectiveness against traditional PR methods.

How to use Link Value

What Link Value measures

Link Value represents the estimated cost of a media placement if it had been paid for using traditional PR models, such as:

  • Purchased through an agency under a monthly retainer or pay-per-placement model

  • Paid directly to a publisher

  • Acquired through other paid or earned methods

Each placement is assigned a dollar amount based on:

  • Industry average costs for securing placements

  • Domain Authority (DA) of the site where your link appears

Connectively then sums these amounts to reflect your total Link Value.

Tip: Think of Link Value as how much you’ve saved by using Connectively instead of paying for each placement individually.

How to see your Link Value

  1. Log in to your Connectively account.

  2. Navigate to the Analytics page in the Admin section of the left-hand sidebar.

Your total Link Value appears alongside other performance metrics.
