Submitting responses on behalf of someone else (e.g., your CEO) requires creating an expert profile specific to the person you are representing. Below is a step-by-step guide to ensure accurate attribution and compliance when submitting expert quotes through Connectively.us.
Key Principles for Pitch Submission
Expert Profile Matching: The profile used to submit an answer must match the individual to whom the quote will be attributed. For example, if you are submitting on behalf of your CEO, ensure that their details are accurately represented in the profile.
No Additional Text: Only include the response text while submitting. Avoid adding introductions, biographical information, or additional attribution details. These will be automatically populated from the expert profile.
Steps to Create an Expert Profile

Full name
LinkedIn profile
Job title

Optional: Professional profile email (used only for verification — must align with their name and company domain)
Save the profile.
Profile Email and Verification
The profile email you provide serves two purposes: it displays as a verification check and protects your client's privacy.
The email is never shared with journalists. It's used only to send a one-time consent email confirming your client is aware you're managing their profile.
The email must match your client's name and company. For example, if your client is John Smith at Company Inc, the email should be [email protected] or similar. This alignment is required for verification checks to run.
Your client will need to click the verification link in that one-time email. This confirms consent and allows their Verification Signals to display — giving journalists further confidence to use your client as a source.
Passing Verification Signals are always displayed on their profile — but the email address itself remains completely private.
Ensuring Accurate Attribution
When you go to respond to a query, you will select which expert profile the answer should be attributed to by using the Profile dropdown.
Attribution details such as the individual’s name, title, LinkedIn URL, headshot, and company will be automatically pulled from the expert profile at the time of submission and shared with the publisher. To maintain professionalism and credibility for publishers:
Double-check that all profile fields are accurate and up-to-date.
Align all submitted answers with the profile of the individual being quoted. By following these steps, you can confidently submit responses on behalf of another individual while ensuring proper credit is given through the Connectively.us platform.
Using Verification Signals to Help Your Client Stand Out
Verification Signals show journalists exactly what's been confirmed about your client — giving them confidence in your client's credibility.
Your client can display up to seven signals:
Identity found in professional database — their name and email match a record in an independent professional database, proving they are who they claim to be
LinkedIn profile valid — confirms their LinkedIn is a working personal profile
Profile email verified — confirms their email aligns with their name and company
Verification link provided — a strategic link you add that helps journalists learn more about your client
Headshot is a person — confirms their photo shows one real person
Valid company anchor text — confirms their company name aligns with their website
Connectively profile — confirms their profile is set to public
Using the verification link strategically: The verification link is a powerful tool to help your client stand out. You can point journalists to a professional bio, media page, company leadership page, or any other resource that showcases your client's expertise and authority. This link gives journalists an additional resource to vet your client and learn more about them.
Verification Signals are completely optional — your client can submit responses and appear in results without them. But confirmed signals help your client appear as a stronger, more credible source to journalists, increasing the likelihood they'll be selected for articles.
By ensuring your client's profile is complete, accurate, and verified, you position them as a trustworthy expert in their field.
