An Interview Profile is a published Q&A in which you answer up to 10 questions about your expertise and experience, in your own words. Interview Profiles are back and, as of October 1, 2026, are part of Featured News.
You choose a topic you'd like to speak to, we generate the questions, you answer them, and you submit the interview to our editorial team for approval. Approved interviews are published on news.featured.com and made available to publishers across our syndication network.
Who can submit an Interview Profile?
Interview Profiles are available to all users. Here is how access breaks down by plan:
Free Plan: one Interview Profile submission per month. Your new submission becomes available on the first of each month.
Lite Plan: one Interview Profile submission per month, available on the first of each month. This is separate from how your 10 monthly answers are allocated.
Pro Plan: unlimited Interview Profile submissions per paid seat.
Business Plan: unlimited Interview Profile submissions per paid seat.
On a Free or Lite Plan and want to submit more? Pay-as-you-go credits can be used to unlock additional submissions. One Interview Profile submission requires five credits.
How do I submit an interview?
Select your attribution. This tells us who the interview is attributed to. Make sure you select the expert profile that should be listed as the interviewee.
Tell us what you want to talk about. Enter a topic or subject you'd like to speak to. We generate 10 unique questions based on your topic and the details in your expert profile.
Answer the questions. Respond to each question one at a time, in your own words. Your answers save as you go, so you can return and finish later. If a question doesn't align with your area of expertise, you can skip it. You need to answer at least five questions for the Interview Profile to be accepted.
Pass the AI check and submit. All Interview Profiles are checked for AI. We do not accept or consider Interview Profiles that score 70% or higher on Pangram's AI-likelihood score. Once your interview passes, submit it for editorial review. A human editor reviews every interview before it is published; if yours is not approved, our editorial team will provide a rejection reason, and in some cases additional feedback.
What should my interview be about?
Any topic within your own field and first-hand experience. Featured News covers business and finance, technology, health, careers and work, marketing, real estate, education, and lifestyle and travel, plus localized angles by state and metro.
The interview's purpose is to inform readers, not to promote a product, service, or company. The strongest answers draw on what you have actually done: a specific situation you handled, a number from your own work, or a lesson your experience taught you. Answers should be plain prose with no bullet lists or headers, and opinions are labeled as your own.
What are the requirements for an Interview Profile?
Every interview goes through the same quality check as other Featured News submissions (see Submission guidelines). A few points to keep in mind for interviews specifically:
Written by you. Your answers are written and edited by you, the named interviewee. Light AI assistance for spell-checking or grammar is fine; using AI to generate ideas, outlines, sentences, or research that appear in your answers is not. AI-generated images, charts, and quotes are also not accepted.
Original. Your answers have not been published anywhere else, and are not spun or lightly rewritten versions of existing content. You own or have rights to any image or dataset you reference, and you credit each source.
Not promotional. No calls to action such as "book a demo" or "contact us today," and no product roundups, "best of" lists, or comparisons that include your own offering. Your company, product, or clients can be named only when essential to the answer.
Well sourced. Attribute any fact, statistic, or quote to its original source, with a link where one exists. Primary sources (government data, peer-reviewed research, official filings) are preferred over aggregators. Statistics include a year, and sources 2 or more years old are noted as such when newer data likely exists.
Quotes and people. Any quote you include must be real and reproduced accurately; fabricated or composite quotes are not accepted and may result in the loss of submission privileges. Private individuals are not named, and no personal information such as home addresses or phone numbers is published. Anonymized anecdotes such as "one of our clients" are fine.
Free of conflicts. Avoid speaking about a company, product, person, or cause you or your company has a financial or professional relationship with, or about competitors in a way that disparages them or benefits you. Interviews you were paid by a third party to complete or place are not accepted.
Links. Links should support a factual claim or offer useful further reading. No affiliate links, tracking parameters, paid links, or links to pages whose main purpose is lead capture.
Clear and fair. Opinion is labeled as your own and kept separate from fact. Plain language for a general audience, with jargon defined and acronyms spelled out on first use. Where a topic has meaningful limitations, risks, or opposing evidence, include them.
How is my interview credited?
Published interviews are titled "Interview with [Your name], [Title], [Company]" and carry the credit "Interview with [Your name] · via Featured News." Your title and company appear in the interview title and may be named and linked within the questions. The interview closes with the line: "The expert featured here is a member of Connectively or HARO, Featured's expert networks."
What happens after my interview is approved?
Once approved, your Interview Profile is final and cannot be edited or revised. Featured's editors may make light trims and fix grammar or spelling before publication. Your interview is then published on news.featured.com and made available to publishers, who must keep your name, title, and company wherever it runs. See Where your perspective goes for details on syndication and attribution.
