Introducing Featured News

What is Featured News?

Featured News is a free news wire of expert-roundup stories, expert bylines, and interview profiles, built from the perspectives of verified Connectively experts and screened HARO sources. Every story is reviewed by a human editor, published at news.featured.com, and made available at no cost to approved publishers, who may republish it with full attribution to each expert.

For experts, Featured News expands your pool of opportunities and helps your submissions go further. A single selected perspective can appear on news.featured.com and in multiple publications across our syndication network.

How does a story come together?

  1. A news event or trend becomes the hook. Featured's editorial team turns a current story in one of our beats into a question for experts.

  2. The question goes out to experts. It is posted to verified experts on Connectively and, for broader questions, cross-posted to HARO. On the Questions page and in the HARO newsletter, Featured News is listed as the publication source.

  3. You submit your perspective. Write your answer in your own words, drawing on your first-hand experience. Every submission passes an automated quality check before it reaches the editor.

  4. The editor assembles the story. On average four to eight perspectives are selected, and the editor writes a short, neutral introduction that attributes the hook.

  5. The story is published and syndicated. It goes live on news.featured.com within 24 hours of the hook, then out to approved publishers through feeds, our API, and a one-click republish option.

Because news moves quickly, timing matters. A story never goes to publishers more than 72 hours after the hook, so submitting early gives your perspective the best chance of being included.

Beats we cover: business and finance, technology, health, careers and work, marketing, real estate, education, and lifestyle and travel, plus localized angles by state and metro.

What types of content does Featured News publish?

Featured News runs three formats.

Roundups are the core format and the one most experts will contribute to. Several experts react to one news hook in perspectives of roughly 50 to 220 words, assembled and edited by Featured's editor. Each expert is credited with their name, title, and company.

Bylined Articles are your own first-person article, in your own words, of 500 to 2,500 words. Bylines are credited "By [Your name], [Title], [Company] · via Featured News" with a short author bio. Learn more about Bylined Articles.

Interview Profiles are your answers to up to 10 questions about your expertise and experience, published as "Interview with [Your name] · via Featured News." Learn more about Interview Profiles.

Do I have to pay to be featured?

No. Featured News is not pay-to-play. Brands never fund stories, and you as the expert are never charged to appear in one. A paid subscription unlocks more submissions per month, not a place in a story; selection is always editorial. There is also no sponsored content, advertorial, affiliate linking, or product placement, and publishers are never paid to run a story or asked to pay for one.

Is my submission checked for AI?

Yes. All submissions are screened with Pangram AI detection, and we do not accept or consider content that scores 70% or higher on Pangram's AI-likelihood score. This applies to every expert on every plan. For the full list of what the quality check looks for, see Submission guidelines. To learn where your perspective goes after it is published, see Where your perspective goes.
